Apapa APC crisis: Owolabi group malign respected Alh. Tunde Balogun

●Adele Elijah Owolabi group spread false rumours against APC Chief, Alh. Tunde Balogun.

In a bid to hold on to the fraudulently procured announcement, as the Chairmanship flagbearer of APC in Apapa, Mr. Adele Elijah Owolabi campaign group, despite the protest that has engulfed Apapa since the contentious announcement, has launched a sustained online attack to blackmail the apex leader of APC in Apapa, Alhaji Tunde Balogun.

In sponsored story in an online publication, the group falsely posited that Alhaji Balogun had vowed to resist imposition of Mr. Adele on Apapa people and equally planned to organise press conferences and stage series of protests to counter the directive of the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The story which was hurriedly posted to cover up the spate of protest and planned demonstration by Apapa people againts the imposition of a stooge of the former council boss, Hon. Ayodeji Joseph who had boasted that his caucus will rule Apapa for the next 25 years.

One of the residents who spoke to reporters debunked rumours of any meeting held at Tunde Balogun’s office saying “is it not insane for anyone to imagine that an organised meeting as such will hold on Sunday when people were either in church or resting due to the Ramadan fasting?”

This is a calculated attempt by Hon. Ayodeji Joseph and his cohorts who know they cannot win any election in Apapa again to smear the image of the respected leader and as such have devised a devilish campaign of calumny against Alhaji Tunde Balogun.

Alh. Tunde Balogun, a Muslim and a member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council was said to be far away on the Island when the rumoured meeting was said to have held.

A source close to an ex-commissioner in Tinubu’s government noted that even if the party chieftain had any reservation against the party fielding an aspirant that the community rejected, he would quietly and humbly advise the national leader not to embark on such a move that was bound to boomerang.

The said story about the non-existent meeting is the handiwork of Mr. Adele and his group who are hell bent on holding on to his fraudulently obtained announcement as Apapa chairmanship flagbearer against popular demand.
