Richest and most cunning kidnapper in Nigeria is finally arrested

The police say it has arrested the “most notorious kidnapper in Nigeria”.

Simply identified as Evans, the kidnap kingpin was arrested in Lagos, according to NAN.

Evans was apprehended by the Inspector-General of Police intelligence response team led by Abba Kyari, an assistant commissioner of police.

Kyari said the suspect was arrested at his residence in Magodo Estate.

“IRT headquarters in Abuja is celebrating the arrest of the most wanted brilliant and notorious high profile kidnapper in Nigeria. He has collected several billions of Naira as ransom in the last seven years as the kingpin of kidnappers.

“He was arrested at about 1.00p.m on Saturday in his residence in Magodo Estate, Lagos,” Kyari said.

He commended the force headquarters for mobilising the resources to go all out against the “richest and most notorious kidnapper” in the history of Nigeria.

The police had placed a N30 million bounty on Evans before his arrest.

He is easily the richest and most crafty kidnapper in the country.

His real names Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike aka Evans, a native of Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra state, Aged 36 yrs.

He was the leader of a gang that Operated in Festac, Amuwo-Odofin and Ojo areas of Lagos.

He had a habit of keeping his victims for up to 7 months in captivity until the friends and family pay up the sums of 300 to N400m ransom in several instalments before victims are released.

Several wealthy Nigerians living in Festac and Amuwo-Odofin Areas of Lagos had to relocate to Ikoyi, Lekki and Victoria Island from their mansions because of the fear of Evans.

His gang also operated in Port Harcourt, Bayelsa, Warri and Benin, Edo State.

He is said to be the mastermind and only survivor in the attempted abduction of Chief Vincent Obianudo the owner of Young Shall Grow Motors in Festac Town, Lagos.
